The Committee for Young Adult Ministry

Vision Statement

The Committee for Young Adult Ministry convenes in recognition and celebration of young adult (ages 18 to 30s) ministry at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Berkeley and in the Unitarian Universalist Association. We come together to support our vibrant and connected young adult community, which is a vital part of our growing church community. Young adult ministry and community are deeply valued at UUCB, and young adults form an integral part of the life of our church.

Opportunities for worship, social action, religious education, and fun and play are offered through the UUCB-Unitarian Universalist Young Adult Network (UUYAN) and the Numinous Circle. We also encourage young adults to connect to the larger church community through worship, committee work, music, religious education, and social events.

In order to continue the growth of our movement, we believe that it is vital that our Unitarian Universalist youth have peer communities in our congregations as they bridge from their teenage years into their 20s. Campus ministry is an important part of this bridging, and we seek to support the campus group at UC Berkeley as well as offering young adult community here at UUCB.

And reaching beyond UUCB, we build connections to young adults in the Pacific Central District through PCD-UUYAN and in UUA through Continental-UUYAN.
