Numinous Circle
Numinous Circle Definition of "Numinous", from the Hypertext Webster Gateway: The Numinous Circle Covenant (pdf) Numinous Circle HistoryNuminous in Depth a history by Alan Taylor Past Numinous Schedules: (pdf) Summer 1998 Fall 1998 Winter 1999 We'll Dance for Food, February 1998 (Large PDF File) On Saturday, February 28, 1998, the Numinous Circle brought together several Berkeley community organizations to sponsor a benefit dance and drumming jam called "We'll Dance for Food." The jam took place at the Berkeley Hillel and featured world beat-global funk-tribal rhythms from DJ Kenny-Ji, live drumming, and special appearances by the Berkeley Klezmer Band and the middle-eastern band Zaa'tar. Guests were asked to donate $5 or more and to bring one non-perishable food item. The event ended up raising about $1200 and a big pile of food for the benefit of the Berkeley Emergency Food and Housing Project. The Numinous Circle was the organizer of "We'll Dance for Food" and was joined by the Berkeley Student Hillel and the University Religious Council. At the dance and at church the few previous Sundays, Numinous also sold wooden spoons that we painted at our annual Solstice Retreat at Freestone,. The spoons were generously donated by Sur La Table in Berkeley. An additional $250 was raised via our spoons and the story of Stone Soup. Young Adults Numinous Circle Vision Statement |
