Adult Religious Education Class Curricula

Education Hour on Sundays from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.

These classes are designed so that you can come to one or all of them. Since they are scheduled at the same time as the RE program for children and youth, the whole family can be exploring at the same time.

UU Bible Study - 1st Sundays of the Month
Led by Rev. Lisa Sargent, this class studies the bible from a UU perspective. Participants will focus mostly on the life and parables of Jesus. What wisdom do these ancient texts and scriptures have to offer us for live today? Everyone is welcome.

Walking the Talk: Dialogue to Live the Vision -2nd Sundays of the Month
Led by Rev. Cathleen Cox Burneo, this class will explore concrete processes people can use to help stay on track with meaningful, productive dialogue that moves towards living our covenant and fulfilling our shared vision. This class series, based on a blend of Non-violent Communication and Family Systems theory, will offer an effective model for building trust and positive energy as we work to explore the resolve differences.

Queer Thea/ologies - 3rd Sundays of the Month
Led by Donna Sequeira, this class will examine Gay,Straight, Transgender, Bisexual, Lesbian, Intersex, and Queer thea/ologies within their multicultural and interreligious contexts. Theory, story, poetry, film, art, music, ritual and personal story will ground this class in lived reality as we explore what it means to live in the multiplicity of queer communities.
