Chancel Choir, Luminescence
The Chancel Choir, Luminescence rehearses each Thursday from September through May at 7:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary. We sing a wide range of music, from Bach to Beatles, and our choir includes a wide range of both ages and musical abilities. We sing most Sundays, meeting at 10:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary before the 11:00 a.m. service. Highlights of the past year’s music include the Sing-Along Messiah, the Kensington Community Symphony joining us in the first of two Music Sunday services, and the musical review Side by Side by Sondheim. The choir also joined in the celebration of our Composer-in-Residence Herb Beilawa’s 75th birthday concert, and sponsored recitals by organist Sandra Soderlund and pianist Bryan Baker. Violinist Donna Lerew, flutists Deborah Schmidt and Julie Ernest, baritone Barry Zuckerman, and string bass player, Warren Zittel, are among the congregation members and guests who participated in the music for Sunday services. The Choir is a delight. We have fun! Find out more about UUCB’s Music Program . |
