Solar Energy at UUCB
When you join in a Sunday service at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Berkeley, above your heads, powering our worship service, are 336 solar panels producing 50 kilowatts of electricity. Financed through the generosity of our congregation's members and friends and through a state rebate program with PG&E, the panels were installed in 2008, and were blessed in a community ritual celebrating possibilities for a cleaner energy future and our commitment to greening our planet on May 28, 2008.

The web monitoring system shown below collects data from the solar inverters on an hourly basis and that information is posted on the Sunny Portal web site. You can see how well the PV array is working right here!
