Tim Herring coordinates our childcare workers, has completed 15 units of early childhood education classes and has been a pre-school teacher in Berkeley for 22 years. He enjoys helping children learn things, as well as keeping them safe and happy. Tim was born in New York City, and moved to Seattle, WA when he was 10. He worked as an electrical engineer for 35 years, and during that time moved to San Francisco. He became a preschool teacher after retiring, and has 2 sons, 2 granddaughters, and one grandson. |
| Meuy Saechao has a degree in Early Childhood Education from Contra Costa Community College, and has been working with children of different ages (infant and preschool) for the past 10 years. She currently works during the week at Contra Costa County Early Head Start. She likes to see children learn and socialize with their peers, as well as playing with them, and watching them grow. Meuy is a mother of 3 children and married, her nationality is Mienh, and she is from Laos. | |

Khamchan Vannachit was a preschool teacher in Laos in 1979, speaks Lao, and has been babysitting children for 15 years. She likes to see children grow and supervise them. They bring sweetness to her life, and she says, "it is always a great pleasure to see them smile" – being around children makes her happy. Khamchan is married and a mother of 3. |
| Annie Vannachit graduated from Berkeley High in 2008, and has been babysitting children for 7 years. You might recognize her from Yali's Café or Café Leila where she works as a barrista. Like her mother, she says it is always a great pleasure to see children smile, and feel the happiness. "Children are more fun to work with than adults," she says, "and are easily amused." | |
| Sue Khamphanthong has worked with Contra Costa Head Start for 13 years, and is pursuing a degree in early childhood education. Sue holds a Child Development Permit from the State of California and substitutes when we need another childcare person at UUCB. Sue likes to talk and play with the children, and is mother of 5 with two granddaughters. Her native language is Lao. |
