From Our Co-MinistersJune 2007 Celebrate good times! (Tunes from the Prom are still dancing in our heads!) June 3 the congregation will celebrate our religious education program, the teachers, the leaders, the volunteers, the kids! What a joy to be in community with all ages of people! How lovely to notice a 5 year old greeting a 95 year old! This can be one place in your life where ages are not segregated, where you can make intergenerational friendships. How fine it would be to have all ages reach out to ask one another.s stories, fears and hopes. How about taking a moment right now to imagine how you can further a real intergenerational community? Remember the June 3 Sunday service leads into a big field day with food and fun for everyone! Plan to stay, picnic and play! We celebrate Christopher Craethnenn’s two years of ministry here! We all are the lucky recipients of his amazing stories. What a gift. No matter your age, Chris’ stories wake you up, get you to the edge of your seat, make you laugh, and remind you of what’s most important! All good wishes and blessings to Chris and Lauren who were married just days ago! Are we already up to four celebrations? This year the two of us are celebrating 50 years of ministry (30 for Bill and 20 for Barbara) and we are honored to be preaching the sermon at the Service of the Living Tradition at General Assembly of Unitarian Universalists in Portland in June. On Sunday June 10, we’ll share some of what we are learning and give thanks for our ministry together with you. Sunday, June 17, UUCB will mark Community Ministry Sunday. The Revs. Jane Ramsey and Cathleen Cox Burneo, our Community Ministers, with Christopher Craethnenn, will look at expanding and sharing the ministry among all in our community as part of our calling as human beings and religious people. How do you see yourself ministering among our congregation? How do you and how can you live your life in the service of integrity, joy, justice, and love? Sunday, June 24 our beloved colleague the Rev. Cinnamon Daniel, who is studying for a doctorate in pastoral counseling, will lead the service on Forgiveness and Freedom. Recent studies show that practicing forgiveness improves one’s physical and emotional health. How can we learn to forgive? What are the barriers to forgiveness? Practicing forgiveness can lead to the freedom to really live and celebrate life! And what are we up to now? Eight celebrations? All of us together create “a celebration to last throughout the years; so bring your good times, and your laughter too.” Love,
Barbara and Bill
